Our engineers at Forerunner Technologies have decades of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. It is this wealth of experience and on the job training that we were able to develop and improve on existing sensor technologies resulting in several industry "firsts" such as:
1. The first flow line sensor that uses encoder technology.
2. Our RFM 3600, or rolling float meter is the first in the industry to utilize a plastic wheel which is able to detect extremely low flow velocities.
3. The first specific gravity and density sensor that allows on-site adjustment of pressure probes, which results in more precise readings.
Products
The FLE-1000 is the world's first flow line sensor that uses encoder technology. The sensitivity and accuracy achieved are unprecedented. To maintain compatibility and exchangeability with conventional mud flow paddle sensors, an analog to digital converter and intrinsically safe circuitry are built into the sensor so that it becomes a loop-powered, 2-wire 4-20 mA sensor.
The TSG 500 density sensor addresses the industry's problems with traditional hydraulic sensors which are susceptible to hydraulic transmission losses, lateral fluid forces caused by agitation, and a high rate of damage from cuttings due to the extremely large diaphragms. Because it has an integral temprature sensor, true density calculation becomes possible since H20 is compensated with liquid temperature. It is the first in the industry to allow onsite adjustment of pressure probes distance resulting in more precise measurements.
The drawworks direction and speed sensor is the most versatile package put together to ensure compatibility with virtually all types of drawworks machines, from the smallest truck-mounted rig to the biggest 5th generation semi-submersibles or drillships.
The 8-wire sensor is designed with differential signal transmission circuitry to handle the most electrically noisy and harsh enviroments. The output of the intrinsically safe barrier are ready for data acquisition computer and/or PLC.
The RFM-3600 is the most cost effective well "kick" detection system in the market today. With it's innovative high-temperature plastic composite wheel, it is able to detect extremely low flow fluid velocities which the traditional heavier metal wheels cannot detect. Digital detection of flow level makes repeatability unmatched by any analog resistive sensor, including potentiometer based designs.
Our Constant Volume gas trap eliminates the problems inherent in traditional QGM or quantitative gas measurement systems such as inconsistent fluid refresh rates, eddy mud resampling, and inconsistent mud level or volume. This is accomplished largely by a controlled flow through a field tested peristaltic pump into a non-immersed QGM gas trap, An integrated variable frequency drive assures constant pump rate regardless of power and voltage fluctuations.
